| Chelators have been used in many aspects of biomedical research, from water softening to antidotes for heavy metal ion intoxication. At present, novel therapeutic regimens have been developed against psychiatric disorders, viral, and protozoal infections. Many clinical trials and biomedical research continues in the use of chelating agents in solving various medical problems.
